A personal project by Xiaochen Hou
Property alerts, organised for a personal home search.
Property Hunter helps its owner review saved-search emails, keep a private record of property listings, and check usable addresses against official Victorian parcel data.
It brings together information already provided in property-alert emails: listing links, available addresses, advertised prices and property attributes. Duplicate listings are recognised, changes are recorded, and incomplete information is left for human review.
Personal use only. This website provides public information about the project; it is not a public property-search service or a Google sign-in page.
Read-only Gmail access
Google authorisation uses gmail.readonly. The application reads selected messages; it cannot use that permission to send, delete or change emails, mark them as read, or change labels.
The Google permission is broader than one label. The configured search limits which messages the application processes. The privacy policy explains that distinction.
A private review workflow
The application currently serves only its owner. GitHub Actions can run the discovery workflow, while Supabase PostgreSQL stores cloud records. Local Gmail downloads and SQLite are also supported.
Gmail messages, credentials, private search history and listing records are not published on these pages. Email alerts and parcel matches are observations for review, not confirmation that a property is currently available or suitable.
